“Les Arcades” History is a unique and rich once. In 1920, coming back from a long stay in England, Mr. Bassil Trad decided to establish the first Art de la Table store in Downtown Beirut. The country was living its Golden Period after the break of the Ottoman Empire and acclaimed the introduction of the English Tea ceremony around English Luxury Brands with great enthusiasm.

Our History in a Few Words

“Les Arcades” has established itself as the reference for exclusive sterling silverware and luxury tableware with Saint Louis, Mappin & Webb, Barker Ellis, Wedgwood, Herend, Moser, Georg Jensen, and Royal Copenhagen.

His son, Nagib Trad, fond of Arts and Architecture, a man of taste with a strong passion for beauty, gave a new breath to ‘Les Arcades’ by introducing colors and modernity to the Boutique. He opened a new store on Abdel Wahab El Englizi Street in 1977 and introduced progressively during several decades new fashionable brands with different Design Award Winning prices such as Stelton, Vista Allegre, Kosta Boda and Rosendahl. Able to attract the youth looking for elegance and refinement, he also installed the 100% Cash Back formula for Wedding Lists and became indispensable for all the newlyweds of the country.

Rare, Exclusive, and Limited Edition Objects are part of the Identity of the Boutique and ‘Les Arcades’ remains the meeting point between the art of table decoration, luxury household goods, and design.

In 2022, Amira Trad, who spent 15 years working for iconic jewelers Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels at Place Vendôme in Paris, decided to return home. There waiting for her was her father’s boutique, ripe for rebirth. While maintaining her involvement in jewelry by continuing to offer consulting services to her international clients, Amira found in “Les Arcades” a rich tapestry of history and culture, that she could bedeck with a plethora of ideas. As a young girl, she had worked summers with her father and grew up immersed in this world of beauty, so this was no strange universe for Amira. She resorted to digital mediums to keep up with modern trends. She revamped the website and created an e-shop to make online shopping possible. She also wanted to make “Les Arcades” a place where the customer is king. To that end, she imported high-quality, bespoke French brands. To Amira, each client is unique and is free to play around endlessly with the shapes and colors that would ultimately set the tone for the functions that he/she envisages.

“Les Arcades” wants to bring the Art de la Table back to the center, to create conviviality around Lebanese people’s tables, by providing more affordable and colorful creations along scarcity and refinement and promote Joy.

Whether you are looking to embellish your table or home atmosphere, “Les Arcades” is the only place where so many international brands are reunited – and where the mix and match with historical silverware pieces, colorful glassware, and table accessories is possible.
